How can I stop Testimony recording?
The regular way to stop a Testimony recording is straightforward: you simply navigate to the 'Recording Status' tray and select the 'Stop Recording' option as below. This is by far the best way to stop recording.
However, there are three other options, these are in order of preference.
You can navigate to the Shared Memory Explorer' tray as below and select the stop button.
Note you will need to handle the recording data in the system in one of two ways.
- Assuming that the RFC from then central system to the source system is working correctly, stop the recording via the 'Recording Status' screen as detailed above.
- Use the checkbox 'Purge Database Content as well?'. This option will remove all of the recorded data from the BTI tables and clean up any data in the shared memory of the source system. Note that you won't be able to use the data for a playback.
If the RFC from the central system to the source system is not usable the program /BTI/AUT_ABORT_REC can be run directly on the source system and provides the screen below. You simply execute this program to stop the recording.
As before, you will need to decide what to do with the recorded data. If you select the option to purge the database contents, then this data will not be usable for a playback. If you want to keep the data, then once the RFC connectivity issue has been sorted out you can transfer it to the central system using the "Stop recording" functionality.
The final option if for some reason you are unable to stop the recording using Option 1 or 2 is to terminate the recording data job on the source system. It should be named
/BTI/AUT_SAVE_BTRAN_PERIODIC and be running under the RFC source user name.
Recorded data will need to be manually transferred to the source system as described above.
